I would like to introduce our new Co-Presidents of Foundry Youth!!!

Meet Bethany Grover & Amy Krampen:

Bethany is a junior at Princess Anne HS, volleyball player and avid fan of laughter!

Amy is a sophomore at Green Run HS, softball player and lover of all things weird and loud!

I feel blessed to have these ladies beside me this year helping

to plan and create our youth programs and events!

Thanks ladies!

Our September Schedule stands as this:

Sept. 4th: No Youth Group (Labor Day Weekend)

Sept. 9th: Screen on the Green Movie Night (TBA)

Sept. 11th: Back to Church Sunday Cookout (after 10AM service)

Sept. 18th: 1st Youth Group of the School Year!!!4-5:30pm

Sept. 23-25th: Youth Camping Trip (TBA)

Sept. 25th: No Youth Group (end of Camping Trip)

Sept. 30th: All-Nighter Laser Tag Event w/Thalia UMC 11pm-7am

So the Lent Season is upon us and I wanted to make sure everyone knows what Foundry Youth are doing and what upcoming events and ministry options are available!

Youth Schedule for March

Sundays:

Sunday School 9:00-9:50 am, MS- Youth Building & HS-Ali's Office

Youth Group (grades 6-12): 4:00-6pm, Youth Building

Mar. 13th: YG-Lent-a further study 4-6 pm Youth Building

Mar. 16th: Lenten Event-6:30-8pm Supper & Program

Mar. 23rd: Lenten Event-6:30-8pm Supper & Program

Mar. 27th: Potato Bar Fundraiser after 10am service

Also: We are hosting the Homeless of Virginia Beach for a second week this year April 13-19th!!

About Gavin: In October 2009, Gavin Bigelow was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia (AA), a rare and medically incurable blood disease. He received treatments for 6 months at CHKD in Norfolk, with no improvements. In April 2010, the AA morphed into MDS (monosomy 7). The Bigelow family temporarily moved to Duke Medical in North Carolina for the duration of his treatment, which has included chemo therapy and a bone marrow transplant.

Something I found that i thought was hilarious!!!

GOD IS MISSING!

A couple had two little boys, ages 8 and 10, who were excessively mischievous. They were always getting into trouble and their parents knew that, if any mischief occurred in their town, their sons were probably involved. They boys' mother heard that a clergyman in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys. The clergyman agreed, but asked to see them individually. So the mother sent her 8-year-old first, in the morning, with the older boy to see the clergyman in the afternoon.

The clergyman, a huge man with a booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, "Where is God?". They boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there with his mouth hanging open, wide-eyed. So the clergyman repeated the question in an even sterner tone, "Where is God!!?" Again the boy made no attempt to answer. So the clergyman raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, "WHERE IS GOD!?" The boy screamed and bolted from the room, ran directly home and dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him.

When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, "What happened?" The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied, "We are in BIG trouble this time, dude. God is missing - and they think WE did it!"

Well now that the school year has begun we have lots of fun and exciting things coming up in September and October!!!

Sept. 19th is our Back to School Lunch @ Ensenada's (bring money for food)
Sept. 26th first normal YG- we will discussing bible study options and our events for the YEAR!
Oct. 2nd we will be helping the Mission team unload pumpkins
Oct. 8-9th is the Confirmation Lockin @ Foundry!!!
Oct. 10th Chili Cookoff @ Foundry for YG
Oct. 17th Our first annual Foundry Youth Bonfire event @ Pastor Tricia's house!!

Foundry Make A Wish Mission Week

Foundry's 1st Annual Make A Wish Mission Week

All youth: August 9-13th 9am-4pm

Week concludes with a visit to Water Country USA on Saturday

Must attend at least 3 work days to come on Saturday

Cost $30, scholarship available
